The colours this particular photograph consists of has impacted greatly on me from first view.

I must say that one of the greatest things of this piece is the fact that there is a distinct, gradual alleviation of turbulence in the work.
Starting from the rocks at the bottom of the canvas, there is great detail to take in, as there is much happening between the darkened gaps of each rock as they sit above and beside one another unevenly. Slowly as the eye moves further up the canvas, the colours begin to ease gently and you are introduced once again to the focal point of the image - the crashing waves. There is a lovely aspect of this focal point, where the sun angles beautifully and hits a spray of water. This stands out very well indeed.

Travelling a little further up the canvas, the calm of the still water instantly contrasts immensely with the detailed, textured rocks at the foot of the canvas.
And finally at the very top of the photograph is the sky introduced in a flat, cool/warm contrast.

A beautiful colour sequence is evident in the work as blue and yellow hues work in unison to create a sense of depth as the eye travels along the photograph.

i think that this is brilliant! the colours are perfect, so blue... you can see in this picture the sky, the sea, the rocks. it's like a road that you take in life. it begins with hard work. you need to walk on the stones, swim in the ocean and the you can finally reach the sky! i think it's just..amazing!
