When she was 'younger' she was in england, and came across a child- this child wanted to be in a rock band but he had no talent with instruments, couldnt sing, and wasnt attractive- this child was Murdoc niccals... she granted his wish In return he was to give her his soul at the age of 30- of course, this is merdoc we are talking about. she never got her soul. Zara continues to hunt him to this day, determinate to get her rightful soul.
After finding plastic beach, she was able to successfully capture Murdoc, ready to take what was rightfully hers- thankfully 2D convinced her that they needed him to be alive for a little longer at least until their new album dropped.
