This trait has the tendency get her into trouble with others when she can't keep her mouth shut.

B E F O R E . B I R T H
Specklenose's parents, Shadetail, a black she-cat, and Foxnose, a red tabby tom, were very alike in all ways but one. They were both adventurous, kind souls, but Shadetail held a lust for change that only confused her mate. However, she was happy enough, she supposed. One day, when she was out hunting alone, she came upon a handsome gray loner. She would have attacked, but something about him compelled her. She inquired as to who he was, and she found out his name was Arch. She could have sworn it was love at first sight.

She visited Arch often, and kept very quiet about it. She knew that Foxnose was a very forgiving tom, but this was something she was sure he would not forgive. And so, she kept the affair a secret. She figured if she kept it quiet enough, she could have both toms with no consequences. She told neither of her other mate until much, much later- After she had a litter of both of their kits. One kit, Specklekit, was a tortoiseshell she-cat, resembling Foxnose not only in the colors in her pelt but also in her blue eyes. She looked nothing like Arch. However, the other, Stonekit, was the spitting image of Arch. This brought a few questions to the table.

Not long after, Shadetail finally confessed to both toms that she had given birth to a litter fathered by two. Foxnose was disgusted, and left her promptly despite his forgiving nature. Arch, who had no interest in a family, was unaffected, aware that she had another life within her clan. And so, ashamed and confused, Shadetail abandoned ShadowClan for her new mate. It was then arranged for a kind tabby queen, Frogleap, to nurse the kits until they were old enough to eat prey.

K I T H O O D
Specklekit spent most of her kithood sticking up for her half-brother, who had already been subject to countless rumors whispered amongst her clanmates regarding his father. Luckily, since Specklekit resembled Foxnose the most, she suffered much less than Stonekit. She became very outspoken in this period, when it was critical for her to ward off those who tried to meddle in the affairs of her family.

She loved her father, who was still very gentle despite having his heart broken. He understood that Stonekit wasn't his, but he loved him and treated him like a son nonetheless. Stonekit, however, refused to let Foxnose get close to him, as he felt like he had no father. And so, Foxnose was helpless to defend him from those who teased and bullied him about his heritage.

As Stonekit grew older, he began to resort to troublemaking as his emotional outlet. He picked fights with the other kits, snuck out of camp on a daily basis, and through all of this, had but one friend- Specklekit. She was closer to him than anycat, and did her best to keep him out of trouble when she could. However, as he grew older, it only got worse.

One day, Specklekit caught him sneaking out of camp. She followed at a safe distance, knowing that if he caught her he would send her back to camp. He approached the river near camp, knowing there he could be alone. He leaped towards a rock jutting out of the river, as he had countless times before. However, this time, he had slipped when he reached the rock, and plummeted into the churning waters below. Specklekit stood, frozen, for a few seconds, scanning the surface of the bubbling, rushing river water for any signs of life. Moments later, a heap of soaking fur lunged up to the surface, gasping for breath, flailing, calling for help. Specklekit darted forward, clutching the nearest branch between her teeth and extending it to her brother. He latched on, and she pulled him back to the riverbank.

A P P R E N T I C E S H I P
After the incident, Stonepaw got into much less trouble. He had matured since then, and was more willing to stand up for himself. This was the period where he had gained more independence, not to mention respect in ShadowClan, and Specklepaw was able to find herself in Stonepaw's absence. She was able to make more friends, improve upon her own character, and stop worrying about others. This was the period in which she could become her own person and cultivate her independence.

One day, when she was out exploring, she noticed traces of unfamiliar scents near the border. Being young and clueless, before she could even think to go back to camp and get a warrior, she bolted across the border after the scent, into uncharted territory. She followed the scent for only a minute or two before she came upon a makeshift den, ridden with two scents- One reeked of something she couldn't place, while the other carried a very faint ShadowClan scent. This intrigued her, sparked her interest. She tried to make the wisest decision she could, but her curiosity soon got the best of her, and she let out a quiet mew to see if anycat was around to hear.

In only moments, the she-cat that carried the faint ShadowClan scent hesitantly padded out, her eyes narrowed in disbelief. "Specklekit... Is that you?" She whispered, her eyes now wide and clouded with the memories of her past.

"Specklepaw. How could you possibly have known that?" Specklepaw growled, advancing slightly. And then it hit her. The black fur. The stale ShadowClan scent. The voice. This was her mother. "Shadetail." She croaked, eyes wide.

Specklenose never spoke of the incident again. As soon as she had realized who this she-cat was, she panicked. Without thinking, she ran all the way back to camp, not looking back once. The questions that followed were not answered, and never were. Even now, as a warrior, she keeps it quiet- Especially around Stonethorn. Although she knows he may want to meet his true father, trying to talk to him about his heritage would only bring back troubled memories of his kithood.

A few leaf-bares into her warriorhood, after moons and moons of dwelling on old memories and living in the past, the snow started falling harder than usual, driving her into the warriors' den. Within a few minutes, a full-on snowstorm was taking place outside, and all of the cats had found shelter somewhere within camp. Oddly enough, she found herself alone in the den, despite there being so many others in her clan. Had she chosen another place to hide, the events that had occurred next may not have taken place and she wouldn't have met Crayfin.

It all began when the lichen parted, revealing a handsome young tom. His eyes were a sparkling yellow, and his back was covered in snow. Her eyes lit up as they met his, and the two began to talk, and then laugh, and then love, and then everything changed.

Specklenose began to spend the majority of her time at his side, and they grew closer and closer. Despite their unspoken feelings for each other, they whispered of secrets, dreams, wishes, and nothing was the same anymore. Now she had him, and she felt unstoppable. She had always thought of love as dangerous, always feared it for the pain it could cause, but now she wasn't afraid of it.

Then the Black Surge began.

One day, after returning from a patrol at about sunset, she felt something wrong in the camp. Something was missing, although she couldn't place it. She felt a hollowness in her chest, and her began to beat faster. Something was definitely wrong. After looking around, unable to pinpoint it, she finally knew. Crayfin. There were still a patrol or two out of camp, but he hadn't been assigned to any of them. She asked her clanmates if they had seen him, but all any of them had known is that he had left camp alone earlier in the day and nobody had seen him since. Getting ready to leave camp herself, despite the imminent dangers of the surges, a cat burst, heaving, through the entrance tunnel, a sodden heap of fur on his back. Gently laying him down, he breathed, "I found his body in one of the flood plains. He drowned."

The journey to the new territories felt hopeless. Her paws were numb, hard and cracked from walking for miles. But so was everything else. Nothing mattered anymore. Crayfin was gone, left behind at the lake she would never see again. She could only hope he could still see her from wherever StarClan watched in the sky, and that he would stay with her despite the miles she traveled with the survivors.

Pausing for a moment as the tom looked him over, he realized what the firebender was doing and he didn't like where it was going at all. The last thing he needed walking out of his morning primping session was more burns than he walked in with. If he was going to get out of this encounter unscathed, he would either have to intimidate his adversary or outfight him.
"Whoa, whoa, enough with all the analyzing! You're looking at me like I'm a mouse, spirits, stop that! I do come here often, yes, but completely of my own right, considering this is my clan's territory... but it looks like you've either forgotten that or couldn't care less, judging by that look on your face. Nonetheless, we don't have to fight. Not unless it comes down to it, of course. That said, I'd like to return to my grooming. Now, whether or not you feel you would like to let me stay at the pools and do so undisturbed, is, well... up to you. But make a wise decision, my fiery friend, because I'm not overly confident you know what you're in for, lest you make its foolish counterpart."
With that, the tom stood and turned with a swish of his tail, warily stepping a few paces away and returning to his grooming by the pools. Despite his cool appearance, the sleek tom watched the firebender distrustfully out of the corner of his eye.

One day, Specklekit caught him sneaking out of camp. She followed at a safe distance, knowing that if he caught her he would send her back to camp. He approached the river near camp, knowing there he could be alone. He leaped towards a rock jutting out of the river, as he had countless times before. However, this time, he had slipped when he reached the rock, and plummeted into the churning waters below. Specklekit stood, frozen, for a few seconds, scanning the surface of the bubbling, rushing river water for any signs of life. Moments later, a heap of soaking fur lunged up to the surface, gasping for breath, flailing, calling for help. Specklekit darted forward, clutching the nearest branch between her teeth and extending it to her brother. He latched on, and she pulled him back to the riverbank.

After the incident, Stonepaw got into much less trouble. He had matured since then, and was more willing to stand up for himself. This was the period where he had gained more independence, not to mention respect in ShadowClan, and Specklepaw was able to find herself in Stonepaw's absence. She was able to make more friends, improve upon her own character, and stop worrying about others. This was the period in which she could become her own person and cultivate her independence.

One day, when she was out exploring, she noticed traces of unfamiliar scents near the border. Being young and clueless, before she could even think to go back to camp and get a warrior, she bolted across the border after the scent, into uncharted territory. She followed the scent for only a minute or two before she came upon a makeshift den, ridden with two scents- One reeked of something she couldn't place, while the other carried a very faint ShadowClan scent. This intrigued her, sparked her interest. She tried to make the wisest decision she could, but her curiosity soon got the best of her, and she let out a quiet mew to see if anycat was around to hear.

In only moments, the she-cat that carried the faint ShadowClan scent hesitantly padded out, her eyes narrowed in disbelief. "Specklekit... Is that you?" She whispered, her eyes now wide and clouded with the memories of her past.

"Specklepaw. How could you possibly have known that?" Specklepaw growled, advancing slightly. And then it hit her. The black fur. The stale ShadowClan scent. The voice. This was her mother. "Shadetail." She croaked, eyes wide.

Specklenose never spoke of the incident again. As soon as she had realized who this she-cat was, she panicked. Without thinking, she ran all the way back to camp, not looking back once. The questions that followed were not answered, and never were. Even now, as a warrior, she keeps it quiet- Especially around Stonethorn. Although she knows he may want to meet his true father, trying to talk to him about his heritage would only bring back troubled memories of his kithood.

A few leaf-bares into her warriorhood, after moons and moons of dwelling on old memories and living in the past, the snow started falling harder than usual, driving her into the warriors' den. Within a few minutes, a full-on snowstorm was taking place outside, and all of the cats had found shelter somewhere within camp. Oddly enough, she found herself alone in the den, despite there being so many others in her clan. Had she chosen another place to hide, the events that had occurred next may not have taken place and she wouldn't have met Crayfin.

It all began when the lichen parted, revealing a handsome young tom. His eyes were a sparkling yellow, and his back was covered in snow. Her eyes lit up as they met his, and the two began to talk, and then laugh, and then love, and then everything changed.

Specklenose began to spend the majority of her time at his side, and they grew closer and closer. Despite their unspoken feelings for each other, they whispered of secrets, dreams, wishes, and nothing was the same anymore. Now she had him, and she felt unstoppable. She had always thought of love as dangerous, always feared it for the pain it could cause, but now she wasn't afraid of it.

Then the Black Surge began.

One day, after returning from a patrol at about sunset, she felt something wrong in the camp. Something was missing, although she couldn't place it. She felt a hollowness in her chest, and her began to beat faster. Something was definitely wrong. After looking around, unable to pinpoint it, she finally knew. Crayfin. There were still a patrol or two out of camp, but he hadn't been assigned to any of them. She asked her clanmates if they had seen him, but all any of them had known is that he had left camp alone earlier in the day and nobody had seen him since. Getting ready to leave camp herself, despite the imminent dangers of the surges, a cat burst, heaving, through the entrance tunnel, a sodden heap of fur on his back. Gently laying him down, he breathed, "I found his body in one of the flood plains. He drowned."

The journey to the new territories felt hopeless. Her paws were numb, hard and cracked from walking for miles. But so was everything else. Nothing mattered anymore. Crayfin was gone, left behind at the lake she would never see again. She could only hope he could still see her from wherever StarClan watched in the sky, and that he would stay with her despite the miles she traveled with the survivors.

"Oh? So he admits weakness? That doesn't seem very much like FireClan at all. However, you do have my respect for it. Not everybody can do that," Alder mused, running a paw over his ears as he groomed.
Pausing for a moment as the tom looked him over, he realized what the firebender was doing and he didn't like where it was going at all. The last thing he needed walking out of his morning primping session was more burns than he walked in with. If he was going to get out of this encounter unscathed, he would either have to intimidate his adversary or outfight him.
"Whoa, whoa, enough with all the analyzing! You're looking at me like I'm a mouse, spirits, stop that! I do come here often, yes, but completely of my own right, considering this is my clan's territory... but it looks like you've either forgotten that or couldn't care less, judging by that look on your face. Nonetheless, we don't have to fight. Not unless it comes down to it, of course. That said, I'd like to return to my grooming. Now, whether or not you feel you would like to let me stay at the pools and do so undisturbed, is, well... up to you. But make a wise decision, my fiery friend, because I'm not overly confident you know what you're in for, lest you make its foolish counterpart."
With that, the tom stood and turned with a swish of his tail, warily stepping a few paces away and returning to his grooming by the pools. Despite his cool appearance, the sleek tom watched the firebender distrustfully out of the corner of his eye.
