I suddenly had this idea and I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I’ve properly conveyed it lol. I guess what kickstarted this was seeing so many people draw Sarada as a teen but still using Sakura’s outfit? Which is cool btw, nothing wrong with that lol. But idk, it just bothers me for some reason? Then THIS idea popped into my head and I was like: “SHIT I GOTTA DRAW THIS ASAP-”

The way I designed it is so Sarada still retains her personality and overall aesthetic (hence the consistent color scheme with her current outfit) but also inherits certain quirks from her parents. I based her top off of the well-known high-collared shirt of the Uchiha clan as well as Sasuke’s throughout Shippuden, and her skirt-cover thingie is obviously based off of Sakura.
But! I didn’t like how similar it looked to hers, so I kept playing with it until I added in Sasuke’s blue cloth design (the way the cloth wraps around him and overlaps one another). Satisfied, I finally settled on that look.
(I don’t know why I thought of her wearing tight ANBU-esque black clothing underneath her cropped top, but we could say she got inspired by them? Sounds good? Good.)
I kept her white shorts bc I think that’s what set her design apart from Sakura’s? And plus I just like how it looks lol. It felt..right. Oh! Her long gloves. I loved how it looks on her current design, but I wanted to add my own twist; so I made it fingerless instead (Lowkey love fingerless gloves ehehe-) Plus I can imagine that it’s more practical as she has a firm grip of the cloth now.
As for her footwear, I actually took inspiration mostly from Naruto’s hehe, with Sakura’s and Sasuke’s added in. I wanted to acknowledge Naruto’s major part as a driving force of her character (bc she’s definitely gonna be the Hokage man)! The rest just came together easily.
Lastly, I decided to have her hair slightly longer than the length she has now, but not as long as Ino’s or Hinata’s. Long enough to make her look more grown up, but not too long. And I personally think medium-length hair fits her just fine too hehe. (Plus, considering she’s a close-ranged combat type, I’d imagine it’s more practical this way? Eh idk.)
We’re definitely gonna get an official design of her later, but whatever lol. This is what it’ll be for me until then.
