Well It finally happened. What better way to celebrate my first 1000 pageviews than by christening my first coloured spiderweb peril pic. Thanks to all who are watching me and favouriting my work. Hope you all continue to watch me. Thanks again.P.S.- Don't expect many coloured pics from me. It's only on special occassion.

Do you ever incorporate the chemical/elemental properties and reactions of silk? Like it seriously constricts when wet, pretty sure it's conductive, melts and shrivels around intense heat, possibly insulating, and I find this Field Guide interesting. [link]

It's also not exactly opaque, like any artists depict, although many layers will look it. Another thing, even for large prey it wouldn't have to be thick, a string of silk about the width of a water hose would hold up two 747's (i think). And if you've ever watched a large spider cocooning large prey, they make a fine fan of silk that they don't put on parallel, one end to the other; this could allow the prey to escape, injure or kill the spider, especially if it's slippery or has got a stinger.

You're surprisingly skilled at coloring! Shame we won't be seeing much of it, but it'll make the special occasions all the better.
I think the heads of the girls might be a little too big, anatomy wise, but it's still quite good~ The only time I like spiders are in pictures like these!
