Finally got the images I wanted drawn done, so I’ll be posting throughout the night.

For those who don’t know who this is already, this is Hræsvelgr, otherwise known as the Corpse Swallower—a Jotun who was the brother of Thiazi . The shapeshifter brothers can turn into birds. Thiazi turned into an Eagle while Hræsvelgr turned into an Owl. However, a fight against the Æsir gods Magni and Modi and a misdirected spell caused Hræsvelgr to turn into a savage giant Owl monster. He couldn't be turned back to his original form. Now a wild animal, Hræsvelgr flew off to the Yggdrasil branch of Jotunheim until he found himself in Helheim, realm of the dead. From there, Hel took pity on the creature and used him to help guard the dead, but Hel really wanted a friend.

Now Hræsvelgr is perched high up on the tallest building in the capital city in Helheim and gazes down upon the Realm of the Dead and its residents, keeping the winds in the realm flowing and helping the dishonored dead move into the city across the bridge of the damned. I didn’t like how the original looked so I tried to make the head more owl like with bumping up the colors.
