Wonderful shot - where is it?

Spoolaroo In reply to carterr [2007-05-31 04:41:50 +0000 UTC]

It's in the prairies of Southern Canada. Southern Manitoba, just north of Neepawa to be precise. Just off the side of the highway.

Thanks a lot for your comment.

Just a little bit more contrast to make the colors more stronger. Great pic, very cool!!

That house got served.

I wonder whose bright idea it was to build it there in the first place?

This is a very well defined, pro-looking image. Nice job.

You've improved much in 2 years, haven't you?

That's pretty cool, considering the other photo is good too. The only thing that bugs me is the tower way back there, but what can you do about that?

Spoolaroo In reply to plasticgiantcatbear [2007-05-18 11:24:04 +0000 UTC]

I was really tempted to use the clone tool in photoshop.

Thanks a lot Pierre. THANKS A LOT.

It's bugging me, but it's good that you left it there instead of taking it to Photoshop.

You're welcome!

That house must have taken quite a beating over the years. I half-expected it to have turned to a pile of rubble when I went to shoot it. Thanks a lot for the compliment.

Rarely do I ever come across a photograph that justifies the claim that photography is art.

This is one of the few. Awesome.

It's interesting to see something like this. Something similar happened to the house my grandmother grew up in. It was seized by the government some time ago to use the land for an artificial reservior. Years later, my mom went to go visit the spot and it turned out that the place the reservior was taking up didn't even reach the concrete pad that the house once stood on. Essentially, the house was seized and destroyed for no reason.

My word that is awesome. Where is this, roughly?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Spoolaroo In reply to Stykera [2007-05-17 17:32:22 +0000 UTC]

It's in the prairies of southern Canada, along a stretch of highway. There's seriously nothing around it for hundreds of miles, besides grass and bush. ... and of course, the highway.

Spoolaroo In reply to Kazzra-Chan [2007-05-17 17:30:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and that house is seriously in the middle of nowhere. I can just imagine... like 8 or 9 kids running around in that little shack.
