So!
My amazing queer-studies teacher told me about an art zine my school's queer resource center was doing and I decided to submit an entry! (Gotta wait a bit before I know if I got in, but I'm allowed to still show the submission on my socials so!!)
Not only that, I decided to take a more personal approach to the submission than just sending in any random old queer art I have lying around (even though, with all of the queer couples I have in my stories, I have a lot of that kind of art already)

I'm not usually the type to be super open with my experiences, especially not online, but I'm honestly proud of the story of growth I put behind this piece. Most of the imagery, from the flowers (white rose, daisies, protea) to the binder i'm wearing in the portrait to the butterflies to the background colors (demigirl pride colors), all in some way represent what I feel to be a happy point in my growth through the minefields of body image and gender identity.
My body isn't perfect. I'm very aware of the stretch-marks and hair and less-than-desirable AFAB characteristics. But honestly, whose body is perfect?
Anyway I just,, wanted to share this piece and how much it means to me, thank you to anyone who actually read through this word vomit lmao

I hate to suddenly switch gears like this buuuUUUT
I'd also like to take this chance to tell you (those of you actually interested in my art ig?? idk) that, at least for personal and/or fan drawings, I want to move towards using twitter instead
I'll still be using this account for groups and such, but I think I wanna try something new
