Oooh, wow... this looks great. I have a set of pens sort of like copics, [For a bit I had the same problem as the bleeding ink person], but I've noticed that when I color, when the color overlaps with another... layer of that color, it has lines Kind of like what a mowed lawn looks like. Is that normal for a beginner? Oh, sorry, making you read all this, with no nice comments-

I do like this- the lineart's nice and clean, and the coloring is BEAUTIFUL. The shading's so smooth, I really like it. Nice work buddy!

Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply back to you! (I rarely check my DA anymore...) Maybe you had your question answered already.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the streaks really depend on the type of pen you use and how long you wait before going over with a second layer. Copics, Trias, and the like are alcohol-based and stay moist on the paper a lot longer, and if you follow up with a second layer before the first one dries, they tend to blend much better. Many water-based markers do not because they get soaked right up in the paper.

However, I urge you to take advantage of the unique properties of whatever pens you use. They add nice textures. If you wanted everything to be perfectly smooth, you'd be using the airbrush in Photoshop, right?

Hope this helps! Thanks for your kind comment!! <3

AHHH i looove it!!!

How do you get the colors to blend so well and have the ink not bleed when applying the copics? That is my problem And then the piece has smears

Thanks! I know, copics are a bitch like that, but you kinda get used to how much it bleeds and just stay about that distance from the lines. Also, it helps to photocopy your lineart; toner doesn't dissolve in alcohol.

Also! Don't forget to put something under your drawing if you are using a sketchbook... I've made that mistake way too many times.... hahah

Wiggy! I am in loving the shading, and the hair is t3h c00ln3ss. In English, that would translate to:
"I am impressed by your shading techniques, and the hairstyle is the coolness." My only problem is with the lips. They just seem... off, for some reason. Like they just aren't right. But then again, it might just be me. Good job, though.

Thanks! I know some parts the colors are kinda off (ie lips- ironic since the title is "candy lips"), but that's what happens when I work with traditional media, and there is no ctrl+z button. It's sad.. sometimes I reach for that ctrl+z when I'm drawing, even if I'm nowhere near a computer.

LOL! I know how that is. I've been writing, and thought to myself, "time to save my work." Then I remember I'm using a pen and paper.
