Spot on, not many people have delved into the 'who protects who' thing

You painted my dream...
In the dream i was that guy, but i killed the child sticking the sword in her belly. I was relieved, but feeling guilty at the same time. Fortunately i knew it was necessary. That little castle was there too. After that i went to that city/village to do what i had to do. To meet my destiny. It was a nightmare actually...

Man, you're good...

I read your section in Imagine FX, you've got some absolutley stunning artwork! Do you underpaint a scanned sketch or work completley in photoshop?

spyroteknik In reply to Carlos2013 [2007-03-01 21:13:36 +0000 UTC]

cheers, i go straight in with photoshop, i use form rather than lines so there's no base sketch, start with large brushes and find form, then work detail into it, more like oil painting

good stuff, not just bias, it's a nice mag, and the single issue thing is only $1 extra if they don't stock it at your local

Another beautiful piece. The scene itself reminds me of Barlowe. One of Wes Craven's favorite artists. I love his scene setups (albeit a lot more demonic, very disturbing and very cool) and I can see it in here especially with the way the structure in the background has little elements of fire. Nice work!

Some details that I don't quite like much like the heavy contrasts on the stones to the left that tends to draw my eye away from the rest of the scene and there's something about the expression his mouth makes that disturbs me but that's just me and my mind..

That being said.. I love the dark desolate feel of this. The heavy shadows work well to give me a sense of a cold, dreary location and the grim look of the characters help the mood of it all very well.
