{Positives}
Generous + Loyal
Leon is a very generous dog for someone who doesn't have much to give out. As extravagant and dramatic as he may seem sometimes, he is not materialistic and finds joy in giving things to others if he thinks they may enjoy it more than him. He feels the need to provide and share, this can be food or simple day to day stories. He doesn't mind sharing even if in the long run it might bite him in the ass. He is also extremely loyal. As someone who thinks family is quite important despite watching them crumble around him, he holds his beloved friends and family above all else. He would go to hell and back if he thought it would make them smile.
{Neutral}
Flirty + Curious
Leon just loves his ladies. The dames (and occasional secret lad) has his head twisting this way and that, practically panting as he watches them go. He does this all in style, of course but still, he enjoys a good flirt. Sweet talking is just a bit of fun for this fella. He sweet talks the fair mannered and more devious of the lady dogs alike. However, the second innocent flirting turns more intimate Leon drops the conversation as he is adverse to the commitment of a relationship. This mutt is also extremely curious, always poking his nose into others business and wondering how things work. Others may not be the fondest of this side of him as it can get him into trouble. This curiosity comes in handy in his line of work as he is trilled by the satisfying feeling of having that wondering nature sated by the closing of a case.
{Negative}
Rude + Egotistical
Unfortunately for anyone who is not a pup nor a maiden, Leon can be incredibly rude. He is quick to assess you and decide whether he should pay any mind to you and most often than not he decides that no, you are unimportant. If you persist in the conversation then he will resort to dry wit and sometimes blunt comments to throw you off. It is not that he is unable of being charming, quite the opposite actually, its just that unless you have something to offer him then you are useless and a waste of his time. Leon is a proud dog, as he should be with his looks. Humble is not a word that has ever been used describe Leon unless it is in a heavily sarcastic tone. This prideful male will either stop at every mirror, puddle or window and preen or else just subtly brag as he goes. His looks seem to be his favorite topic. He mentally hopes that if he brags and struts enough, he will be able to fake it until he makes it. If you throw enough distracting snarky barbs at someone they learn to stop looking.
Personality Type: ESTP
Pre-group history:
Leon remembers very little of his puphood like most. His mother was an American bob-tailed sheepdog mix and his father a trusted Canaan dog of the desert. Little Leon was raised respected and spoiled. In Cairo Leon got an education, his thirst for knowledge and the want to find about this and that was encouraged. Whenever he stuck his nose where it did not belong people did not yell or scold him, simply waving him off with a playful threat of 'next time'. His curiosity grew and flourished. He began to charm those around him, older ladies and the females his own age alike. They giggled and soon Leon learned to love to do this too. He enjoyed pleasing them. A year or so later he was gifted with a little brother whom Leon adored. The well mannered pup followed and adored Leon. The sheepdog noticed his little brothers intelligence and, with pride, brought him everywhere and taught him everything he could. They were extremely close.
This happy life did not unfortunately last long as his mother grew tired of the heat and missed the city life of New York where she grew up. Together the family made for the trip back to America. His father, loving his family, gave up everything to join them there. Leon was dragged from the soft smiles and mischievous ways of the village to the bustling and private life of America. Here everything was different. Canaan dogs didn't leave the desert and would not officially for years to come, making Leon's family both immigrants and an unknown breed. To say they weren't welcomed with open arms was a understatement. The culture shock hit Leon, going from loved and treated like higher class to nothing surprised him. His mother crawled back to her family, no job nor money that would be accepted and with mouths to feed. They rejected her, throwing her back to the streets. Leon's Egyptian grandparents could do nothing and with no money, they were trapped in America.
His parents both found whatever job they could. They worked tirelessly to get a house, no matter how much of a dive it was, and feed their pups. The jobs they could find were rubbish as there was no uses for a sheepdog in the city and they had no legal foothold. Leon and his brother began to go by his mothers maiden name in hopes of getting a better chance in America. He also dropped out of school, saving that money spent on him to be put into his brother. He joined his parents at the hash houses and sleazy bars, ordering his brother to instead stay as long as possible in school. He fought off the men who bullied his mother and brother when his father could not and this got him into lots of fights.
As Leon grew older the dogs around him began to take notice of his looks, the chicks soon flirted with him. The foreign dog used his new fame to boost his brothers social standing as well and before they knew it, the dogs were known for their dashing looks and, in his brothers case, brains. Happiness was not long lasting, he found, as not weeks later his mother and little brother was murdered when his loving mum went to collect her son from school in the time between shifts at work. Intentions were unknown as the attackers got away. The police could do nothing. Leon and his father were devastated. They moved again, this time to Boston, in hopes of better homing and jobs. Leon caught news of a detective agency and hopped on board with the support of his father. If no one else could, Leon would be the one who found the disgusting scum that killed his family.
