Okami is my favorite game ever...
so of course I had to make sure I submitted something to the contest! 
Exciting!Here, Okami Amaterasu appears to paint her story and light onto a darkening world. :3
The style of Okami was... really hard for me. x_x I'm in awe of all the entries that mimic it perfectly! But I was really inspired by the concept art for the game's version of River of the Heavens... so pretty. The entire journey is a truly peaceful, 'feel-good' game.
Realistic Amaterasu doesn't have her reflector because, ah... more people have to believe in her to see it? ^_^;
Now that my front page is basically Okami, I guess it's time to submit something else...

definitely a 'feel good game. also, i agree, my favorite game ever!<3!! there's just something about the game and its concept and story that brings a sort of inner peace, especially when restoring nature is in the game.

I really adore the concept behind this! It's much like a Bev Doolittle painting, with the way Ammy's face blends into the mountains on the inset painting. Beautiful~

Woah thats really awesome how it looks like part of the mountain is the other half of Okami's face. The I can see the other ear and it looks like the markings and the rest of the nose. This is amazing!

Simply amazing.
This was very well done for the contest. From a comparison point of view, the style doesn't seem too far off from the game's design. The aging scroll texture you placed for the background in the center picture is especially convincing for the context of this deviation. I'm not sure if it was exactly your intention, but it might be better if you placed that texture into the center's foreground as well.
You made a good excuse for not revealing the reflector. ^_^ Although, I'm not exactly sure if the amount of people who believe in her will reveal more of her godhood. In the beginning, it's true that people can't actually see Ammy's true form, but was her appearance revealed incrementally as the game progressed? I don't recollect since I still need to finish the game.
You have always done fur shading and texture very well and this is no exception. Nicely done and I pray you the best for the next contest.
