wow... these look amazing! I'm REALLY not a fan of origami jewelry, but this is honestly the first time it doesn't look like a lame arts and crafts project. where did you get the crease pattern from?

I am a huge fan of not using cheese origami..the pattern I used was the Happy bat miniaturized. Took me about three attempts to figure out the right size and how to attach them. Later this week will be posting an origami rose broach. It turned out really nice so if your around please take a look

I am also working on trying to miniaturize a dragon pattern

METAL origami and paper clay?! How does that stuff work??

StormmeKinkade In reply to TinorialPeredhil [2011-01-03 16:14:25 +0000 UTC]

That is what I am working on now.. but the metal clay paper is a thin clay sheet that has silver powerder in it.. So you fold it like you would a thick paper and then you fire it like you would clay. What happens is the clay burns off and the silver powder melts leaving you with a pure silver peice.

Those ARE adorable. I love the way they dangle upside down, just like real bats! The red beads add a nice contrast to the black, too--but what I would do, to keep it in more with the theme of Halloween, is replace the red with orange. Red and orange both look equally great, but orange is more... seasonal, I suppose!
I think you should get a photo of somebody wearing them--we'll see just how cute they really are, on a person!

You should make a matching necklace--that would be the BEST. Wait, can you make oragami necklaces? Or would hair crush them all to death?

StormmeKinkade In reply to EstrangeloEdessa [2010-10-27 21:47:12 +0000 UTC]

Yes i can make necklaces and i have.. I make the pendants for it.. and each of my pieces are coated in a glaze to make them resistant to crushing and wear I have one i accidentily coated in primer instead so it is grey now but that one i am going to turn into a pendant.
