Description Well, Green Water Dragons at least.

Spotted in the Princess of Wales Glasshouse at Kew Botanical Gardens, West London. I'd perhaps have liked the focus to be a little sharper on the eye, but I had to take this in a hurry - a gaggle of curious kids were busy prodding this guy and I was amazed how unfazed he seemed to be!

awesome capture! the only thing that bothers me is the amount of negative space at the left... would it be less distracting to the water dragon if you cropped it out?

I don't suppose it would, no. The only reason that I left it in there was that by doing so, the water dragon's eye was a little closer to the right-hand 'third' line. I also read somewhere that it's a good idea to leave a little more space in the direction that an animal is moving/facing.

However, rules are there to be broken! I've left the original back in England, but when I get back (in 5 months!) I'll perhaps give your suggestion a go. Thanks for the comment.

Hehe, s/he is rather cool, eh? It was surprisingly still and calm, but it does look a little grumpy!

Glad you like the shot.

GORGEOUS. I see what you mean about the focus but it really doesnt take much from the photo and the fact that you got that good of focus under the circumstances is admirable!!

i think its a brilliant shot!

Thanks John. I actually did it with screw-on magnifying glasses - which is how you do your macros, IIRC. They can be pretty useful if your subject is willing to keep still!

My only real concern with this one is that I may have overdone the curves editing on this one slightly. What do you think?
