* I'm getting CS4 later this week. Yay for me!

The corridors were getting darker and narrower as they headed upwards. Kiran treaded carefully, the cobblestones on the ground were slippy and uneven. Rusty armours of two guards who escorted him banged, the light of the torches they held cast a bouncy shadows on wet, stone walls of the passage. They marched in silence.
Kiran could not suppress the excitement. He was about to leave the Citadel for the first time in his whole life. He was about to see the sky and the sun and all the wonderful creatures the old man was babbling all the time.
He adjusted the rope of the travelling bag. It wasn’t heavy, he just had to do something with his hands. His properties, precious things he collected since he was a little kid, weren’t even enough to fill the old sack Uren gave him the previous day. He didn’t care.
The minutes has passed and boy started to think they got lost. The passage was so narrow now they had to walk in single file. He was going to ask the guard if he knows where they are when the corridor suddenly ended with a small, wooden grate. The guard pushed it open, it opened with a loud, jarring sound.
They entered a huge chamber witch a high vaulted ceiling. In front of them, on the opposite side of the room Kiran spotted another entrance. This time it was a huge, wooden gate with steel fixtures and latch. The chamber wasn’t completely dark. The beams of bright light were passing through stained-glass fanlight. Some of the fenestraes were knocked out. Kiran was sure they were almost there.
The second guard approached the gates and placed his torch in the old, rusted holder on the wall, then he detached a bunch of keys from the belt. Kiran was already a step behind him. He saw the guard as he struggled with the old lock. When the guard finally managed to find the right key, he pulled the door open.
It opened with difficulty, flooding the whole chamber with the brightest, the most beautiful light Kiran has ever seen. His eyes, accustomed to the flimsy, flickering light of the candles and torches started to ache, but he haven’t closed them. He was afraid that when he does, all this miracles will vanish.
He felt a solid push on his back, it was the guard thrusting him outside. He stepped out into the world of pure whiteness. It was breathtaking.
‘Good luck, boy.’ ¬– said the guard.
Kiran barely noticed man’s words. He covered his eyes with a hand and keep on walking forward. He could already discern some of the shapes in the vast brightness around. But there weren’t many of them. The huge, flat plate of terrain spread in all directions, till the point it connected with a pale blue sky. There were none of the beautiful plants or creatures he was told about, there was only sand. A never-ending sea of sand. His excitation started to turn into terror.
He turned around just in time to see the gate closing, cutting him away from the only place he ever knew. The place he called home for so long.
‘Wait’ he screamed on the top of his lungs, but no-one listened. Even the echo haven’t answered him as it always did.

The wall of thext above is a part of the short story I'm writting right now. It sounds better in Polish, I'm just a lousy translator.

I'll update the list of used stocks/brushes as soon as I'll get a hold of my laptop, which will be tomorrow morning.

At first glance I thought that you had drawn all of this by yourself, until I read your comments.

I have to admit, you've done a really good job at tying the digital drawings in with the photomanipulation. It's come out really well
