Well, the thing is that I saw a video analysis of Labyrinth, and I didn't really particularly care about him. I just heard his name in passing and that's it. Then I heard he died today, but still wasn't so familiar with the guy. Then I saw your deviation, and it all suddenly came back to me.

Not to mention I'd just bought and listened to his new album for the first time about an hour before the news broke. No doubt that gave it an eerie vibe. Had no idea it was a farewell at the time.

Not since Charles Schulz died on the same morning that the papers carrying his final Peanuts strip were being distributed has a celebrity death had such cosmic timing.

Thanks! I've always just been a very casual Bowie fan, so I was a little surprised that news of his death hit me as comparatively hard as it did. I think it's just the loss of such a pure artistic force that is worth mourning, regardless of how much or little it impact one individually...as you say, his influence was all over a lot of stuff.
