Description
Another Ukiyo-e picture. Background is Cherry, kimono is Sapelle and walnut, red-colored wood is dyed birch, fan is made from Shellac and Ink. Size is 14" by 10" unframed (approximately). The picture will be framed later.Sorry boys and gals, but the picture has been sold.

This is amazing, using different types of wood to create something that looks just like a painting, i've never seen anyone else use this technique before! Congrats on the DD.

very nice piece, as a fellow marquetry artist i have to say you have A LOT of talent. i always evjoy seeing your page being updated. i was curious though how did you manage to make that mesh on the fan. it looks fantastic. (dont worry im not trying to steal your ideas or methods, just wondering)
