Sorry! Please please forgive me for doing this instead of work, all the drawings I promised to do, catching up on messages and/or deviations
My only excuse is that she demanded to be painted! I couldn't do anything!
Oh well...enough apologies.
This started out as a quick doodle yesterday: [link]
And then I thought "why draw a background with nothing infront of it?" And then I roughly sketched a woman and thought "Hmm... she sort of looks like an Owl..."
And then one thing lead to another and suddenly she had turned into this

In the night she comes into the village and is hunting little mice and rats, which are eating the food of the villagers. O_O

Words fail me. Seriously.
This is really good for a normal picture, but you did this as an impromptu drawing? Just sort of popped onto the canvas? I do not think there are words in the languages I speak to accurately express how impressed I am.
I particularly like your attention to textures. The feathers, the fur, her hair, even her skin; the closer I look, the more increadible it seems (well, at least until the computer turns everything into pixles, but that's nothing to be done about that).
The design of the character is really good also. She's got a strong air of nobility to her, and a certain sense of mystery. But what I really love (L-O-V-E LOVE) is the eyes. There's a certain sense of calm, but undeniable force of personality. She seems the sort of person who you'd do just about anything she asked, not neccessarily because she's beautiful, or powerful, but just because the way she'd carry herself, the way she'd speak, would just insist on being obeyed. You'd find yourself doing things for her without realizing it.
I'd envy your talent, but that would ruin my enjoyment of your work.

Beautiful colors, as always! I love how it makes me feel like something is going to happen at night, something magical. It's like she's going to a masquerade ball and she wanted her portrait done before she went, for this night, because something big is going to happen.

That sounds good. Owls are very stary creatures. Cats do it too; they just watch you until you give in. Also like psychiatrists who just listen to you until you solve your own problems by confessing them all to them.
And Meryl Streep does the splits in Mamma Mia! the new film she's in. I haven't seen it, I just saw a picture.
