It reminds me of that kind of place you find in books... thinking kind of a Boo Radley reference here, where it all seems intimidating at first, but it's actually quite the opposite once you focus in. Pleasing to the eye.

Boo Radley's a character from To Kill A Mockingbird. He's the big scary guy who lives in 'that haunted house at the end of the street'. The kids would make up stories about how he killed his family and how he did all these horrific things, but he turns out to be a gentle, caring guy at the end of the book once they actually meet him. The book is about racism and prejudice in the South, aimed in the early... erm, 1920's? I believe? Read it with school a few years back. XP I liked it, anyway. Everyone has their own preferences. There's a taste if you want to give it a shot.
