Heh.. I did say I was going to do some more of these guys. They're loads of fun to design and I've been practicing with their anatomical structure a bit (during my Art History class, no less) to get a feel for them So here's two more Hyksis, to form a kind of sideplot to the main story involving Mwai, Lae and Loosestrife.

Goldenlarch at the top there is one of Loosestrife's dals, recently acquired when he violently and unceremoniously stole her, along with several other dals, from her father's herd. She was only an adolescent at the time, and the entire incident traumatised her badly, leaving her generally fearful, weak-willed and submissive. Now pregnant, she fears for herself as well as her unborn kyfaw.

Alder is one of Loosestrife's sons (gasp). Soon after he was born his mother grew ill and weak, being a rather old dal, and as Alder was a buck, Loosestrife drove them both away from the herd. Alder's mother passed away that winter, but while she was alive she taught her son all she knew about survival, which the young buck put to good use. Now he is almost full grown, and though a naturally peaceable beast, he still carries a chip on his shoulder from how Loosestrife treated both him and his mother, and is undecided as to what he should do about it.

Goldie's markings were pretty much made up, though her creamy-sandy-gold colouring was based on the rare Saiga Antelope. Alder's colourscheme and markings were drawn almost exactly from the Roan Antelope, though of course those markings on his flank came from me
