We still have no idea on the limit of damge super sonic can take

The real winner is obviously Sonic. He takes no damage as Super Sonic and is always in peak condition when changing back, and knowing Goku, he would obviously let Sonic collect more rings so he will remain at his strongest, since Goku prefers fighting an opponent who's going all out.

Super Sonic was inexperienced are that time, and the role knuckles has, it likely allowed him to cancel the transformation. Also, Super Sonic can stay super from getting hit by multiversal power.
