Description So I mainly use my phone as a mp3 player and after I figured out how to modify XMLs for pure music widget, thought I'd give playerpro(which is by far my favourite music player) a go at skinning. After finding an older version which is decompilable, I had a play around.

The playe rscreen skin is based upon drips ipod player [link] but I've redrawn all the graphics for my HDPI phone. I love that skin

I customized two different widgets to fit my needs, too. Still deciding if i want the play buttons on the homescreen widget, though.

I made my own pins skin as I wanted to add an overlay to the artwork and different shadow, too.

If anyone wants the XML's or skins, let me know. I have ver 1.21 of playerpro which is decompilable. I know 2.05/2.06 aren't. But this is mainly to show what you can do with playerpro/all media players.

hey Taine0 what apk tool jar file are you using? If it's 1.3.2 then that's why PlayerPro won't decompile. I swapped it out with 1.3.1, and 1.4.0 and the app decompiled and compiled fine after that.

not showing up right, look at above image, i'm on an evo. anybody else experiencing this or know how to help


also i'd rather just have song title and no music controls if that's possible. just so many folders and don't know what file to edit, like i was going put just a blank png but there's so many music button icons, and then do i have to edit xml too?

i did but i didn't deleted the edited files from that folder. Why should i deleted the edited files in that folder if i just edited them? it doesn't make sense.

The point of the keep folder is that it keeps as many original files as possible. by deleting the files you editted with the same name in the keep folder, it compiles as many original files along with those modified. So if you don't delete the files you've editted it just compiles the original files. Meaning no changes.

WOW! i've done the thing any times, and when i try to install it i get: application not installed. Here are the things i noticed: in the Keep folder i can't see the files i modifed i just see the same files and when i signed the app the file size drop to 1.17mb; the originam file size: 1.67mb.

well, APKmanager compresses the files, so it'll always turn out smaller than the original. Application not installed could be caused by not uninstalling the original playerpro first.

Find the 1.21 version of playerpro, install the skin.apk and decompile the playerpro 1.21 with apkmanager, adding the image and altering the XMLs.

Did you compile it as a system app then delete the editted files from the keep folder

album_appwidget and album_appwidget_small is located at \res\layout-finger and appwidget_album_art_default_bg_small at \res\drawable-hdpi-finger

Make sure you compile it as a system application, otherwise it won't work on your phone. Also make sure you're decompiling it and not just extracting the APK

use apkmanager and when you compile it, it'll ask you if it's a system app press y, then y again and delete files editted in the keep folder.
