I think this picture has more layers than I have ever used. @_@Still trying to work with more dynamic angles- this time with a battle scene!
I'm actually a really big Final Fantasy IX fan-girl. This particular fight is my favorite cinematic of the whole game against my favorite villain. Don't get me wrong, love Kuja, but the Black Waltz and the black mages are such a tragically 'human' story that you can't help but see a reflection of yourself in their struggles with existence.

This is my favorite Final Fantasy! I even love it better than 7. Vivi, the Black Mages and the Waltzes are my complete favorite characters. They just... really tug on my heartstrings!

FFIX still holds a big place in my heart..i played it multiple times trough since i first bought it when it was released the first time on the good old ps1...the whole vivi and the waltz villains story was damn great and welk, so is your fan art which was the reason i just invited you to :icongame-arth-hq: and feature your fan art in the "new and awesome" gallery there

Oh. My. God. Vivi and Black Waltz 3. Been a long time, FFIX, considering I just recently started watching a TAS of FF9. Was like the first cutscene that brought tears, and pretty damn early too.
Feather details, ruffled and loose, detailed arcane magic, can't remember if this scene was done after the battle (thus Vivi already using trance). Guess it does make sense for the deck to be pretty big for the given background. Somehow I always believed Vivi's hat to be significantly bigger than his little head.

Amazing! I aprticularly love the fur on Waltz, it's nice to see another massive IX fan, everyone I know still loves VII. So overrated

I'm actually obnoxiously proud of the fur on this one, so you only flatter my ego. XD
And I know! I never understood the apparently enormous appeal of VII. Probably the pretty boys. I've been in love with medeival stories since I was a child, so IX was my dream game when it came out. And Vivi is just about the most adorable playable character ever!
