Description This came out nothing like my orginal idea. I started with an island on the left then was going to add a planet in the background. So I rendered that that took 14 hours, and realized (I was asleep, let it go overnight) that I didn't have the skills to place a planet behind clouds in front of sky, so I re-rendered with no clouds and another 12 hours. Then read =Swaroop 's tutorial on how to do these really cool spike things, and I decided to try it. Well that didn't come out the same way his did so I ended up using world machine to generate the terrain, another 2 hours probably to get everything right. Rendered that image full size which took 3 hours. Then couldn't get the haze how I wanted, so redid the terrain (I now love world machines circuit building method) and came out with more spikes and stuff. Finally after 37 different test renders at 400*250 and seeing how photoshop handled them, I finally settled on this view pointing towards a world that looks like paradise. Hence the title.

Total time taken: I don't wanna think about it.

really nice. I like the shape of the mountaints, they look really alien because of their spikeyness/all pointing one way. as an image, it's got really nice composition. I feel like the colors are really muted, though. overall very nice

It's really cool... for not being what you intended, this is a beautiful mistake. I know that the planet wasn't a Terragen thing... how'd you do it? Photoshop?

I just edited it to fit any screen that can "stretch" a picture. I can send it to ya via e-mail, if you want. It was simple to do, I just made the total 937 pixels tall, by adding to the border.

interesting seeing as if you call a utopia. A utopia is one of those mystical places that is supposedly perfect in everyway and yet if you dare to translate the word it does mean "nowhere", rather a great contridiction seeing that if you put human nature anywhere, it can not survive there because human nature with it in itself, can not suffice or last seeing that human nature is a fickle and ugly beast. Yet it's said that heaven is supposedly a utopia-like paradise left for all of those who are worthy of it's opening arms. So does heaven exist if utopias don't?

Very nice image. I know all about not ending up with you start out with.....except mine suck. That's the big difference here. Yours rocks. A very beautiful, serene landscape. Excellent composition.

Nope. Terrain made in World Machine. Rendered in Terragen. Touched up and moon added in Photoshop.
