Kaito

The trees seemed to swallow Kaito as he crept deeper into the forest. The stream itself swelled, becoming wider and more wild with every step. He could hear the roar before he saw the edge. Cautiously, he followed the feeling that he must follow the river's decent. His tail caught and hung from every stone as he gingerly tiptoed down the rock face, inches from the cascade of water. Plumes of mist and shadow curled towards him as he slipped below the canopy below. The falls dove into a pool, wreathing the surroundings in a dense fog, billowing clouds that concealed all. He crept out of the blinding fog to see a beautiful pool, circled by a dark forest. The branches wove together above the pool, casting thin slivers of sunlight against the rippling surface. Kaito felt at peace here, but something also pulled at him. Something... he couldn't quite see. The cloudy mist drifted upwards... something was watching him...
