Kaito , and Ikkit

Mist swirled up and around the edge of the pool, Kaito felt tranquility hum in his mind. So peaceful. He waded into the water, it was cool on his tired paws. Clouds of mist softly caressed his fur, drawing him deeper into the small pond, towards the falls. Sunlight broke through the canopy as a breeze blew, thin shafts of light dancing across the surface. The sun was warm, Kaito found himself drifting into a meditative state, his mind emptied of all, and his vision blurred as his head drooped towards the water. So peaceful...so...warm. He drifted right on the edge of consciousness, something tugging at his mind only slightly. A eerie feeling of being watched. He ignored it, soaking in the warmth of the sun's rays, until he realized the warmth was gone. Pulling himself out of the restful sleep he'd entered, he looked up, what was blocking the sun? There, above him on the falls sat a dark being, as his eyes adjusted to the light once more, he saw the sky being swallowed by a twisting shadow. It curled and billowed outwards from a curious creature. An owl? A vision? No...Kaito stepped closer and realized what he was seeing. He was face to face with the wanderer of this deep and shadowed realm, canopies that swallowed light and wrapped the world below in peace and cool. It was this spirit who oversaw the forest realm, the shadowed trickster, Ikkit. The mysterious being gazed down at him, his head tilted curiously to the side. Kaito stared for a short time before bowing his head. "I'm honored to meet you, I..." looking up again, the wanderer had vanished without a trace. Birds sang and sunlight drifted lazily back towards the pool as if nothing had happened. A whisper seemed to tug at Kaito's heart. "you're welcome in my realm, as long as you disturb nothing...." the words were a ghost of a whisper, leaving Kaito feeling both nervous and calm, knowing he'd been judged from afar was eerie, but he was glad he'd not angered the spirit. The roar of the falls lulled him into rest again, he'd head home later, the peace here was intoxicating. He felt tranquility seeping into his very soul.
