SoulCalibur3: Chronicles of the Sword
Sometimes with action scenes like this, I would purposely not draw
the faces completely, in favor of visual energy of the action.
The battle scene is fast, and chaotic. Just my personal visual
aesthetics. hehe. And sometimes, the need to draw the same
character in a single panel, helps to give it that feel, of fast pace action,
taking place. In most American comics, the character is often made to look
transparent, at the starting point, and then solidified at the end point of the
action, which does indeed, make for a cool emphasis. I personally felt like,
you guys probably have the general idea or gist of what's going on anyway.
Doza's blue slash effects helps a lot in this regard, and plus, I really like
this effect since the introduction of such visuals from the SoulCalibur game.
It's like even the attacks themselves seem like a part of the character's
personality, in terms of fighting style, in-game. Here in my fan comic,
I'm using a lot of the blue effect color, simply because that was the color
that every "Create a Soul" character was issued in that game. It wasn't
until...I think Soulcalibur5, that we finally had the option to choose our own
swing effect color. In SC4, the color depended on the canon character's color
effect. I don't remember if we could edit the color in that game since I haven't
really checked. But yeah, just some fun facts I like to share.
