Everything is flat.

I remember depth of field but not perspective.
I remember perspective but not depth of field.
I never have any interesting subjects anyway.
What is composition.

I like the picture, and yet I understand what you mean all at the same time.
I have tried, unsuccessfully, to do a picture for one of the groups I am in, in which my character is standing in front of, in, or near a cave. Despite different perspectives and doodles and sketches and even half colored pieces... it just never looks right, it generally isn't... right. The composition, perspective, and my general inability to do BGs has killed me.
I...if you find any helpful tips or learn anything, let me know. QQ Nothing seems to stick in my mind.

I think the only reason it seems flat is because the lineart on the clothes are perfectly straight while in the coloring it shows wrinkles. Like, the lineart doesn't show wrinkles but the coloring does, you know what I mean? xD This is really only a problem on the coat, but it's not that big of a deal.
Other than that it looks fine, I love how you colored the rock and background. <3<3<3 And the coloring on the person. <33

Ahhh. I actually have this issue with a lot of my other drawings too. I'm usually too lazy to fix it but I think I really should now, haha. Orz
I think the main issue is that the character doesn't blend in with the background well enough, actually.

I love the highlights and shading, the pose, and the ribbon/wire; this is all done so well.
Just one thing I wanted the point out, The ribbon is black at one part instead of a dark red, or I got the colors wrong.

Ahh, I was probably so tired I probably missed that. I tend to filter my art a bit once I'm done, so I'm not surprised if the darker reds turned into black during that process.
