we jews have something like halloween thats called purim, just the dressing up thing is the same. every purim we have to listen to the magilah twice, its a story of the bible about queen esther and her uncle mordechai when haman whanted to hang all the jews in one day. anyway, queen vashti was killed by king achashverosh, and queen esther came in her place.
