Working with layers is easier with GIMP because it has an "Open as layer" command in the file menu. This way, you don't have to copy/paste a layer like you do with Photoshop.

If you want to try GIMP, then you can always ask me for help. I have it installed, but I don't use it much, lol, so I can walk you through things if you want.

Here's the GIMP online manual if you want - [link]

so i pretty much gave up on gimp...for now anyways...im gonna try psp....i have been working on 1 picture for like 2 hours and it basically sucks...this shit is stressful and hard. am i just to stupid to figure it out...or does it really take awhile to learn?!?! lol but i got some pretty decent pics today i think...it was a wonderful day!

Everything takes a while to learn. PSP should be easier, but, I don't know, it's more for people that like things done for them instead of doers, IMHO.

What were you trying to do? I told you I'd help . . .

You might have to cut out the subject and layer them over a background? Use the paths tool, it's the best way to cut out.

Let me know if this is what you want to do, I can give you more tips.

You sure are doing stuff! What HDRi program do you use.

And about Photoshop; just keep fooling around with it. The more you use it, the more you learn. But there's so much you'll prolly never use so don't let all the extra stuff intimidate you.
