Opinion on Character: She is pretty much my second fav videogame female. I never played the first game when it came out, but when I did play a metroid game, I was, like many others before, shocked to discover that Samus was a woman. What Captain Falcon is to Chuck Norris, Samus is to Ellen Ripley from the Alien series. Both are female, tough, and have seen many unimaginable horrors in space. I really like how Nintendo has helped expand on her backstory with Metroid Zero Mission and the Manga explaining her origins. I especially like the manga because it shows a side of Samus that has been haunted. if you think about it, the powersuit is like cover to keep her fears from being let out. But like Snake stated in the codec calls in brawl,
"But underneath that cold, metal exterior beats the heart of a woman..."
