When I was 12, Lionel introduced the #30167 SP Merger set in their 2012 R-T-R catalog. I desired that set for reasons I didn't understand myself. It was a long, arduous 6 year wait, but I finally got the set. To this day, that will probably be the longest time I have seen an item and decided "Hey, I need that and I need that right now." Today, I am introduced to another item that took a long time, though not as long as the 6 year wait.

A few months ago on discord, I met a person who worked at a train shop in North Texas. We talked for a bit and he showed me a unique item; a BLI Texas & Pacific Reefer, SKU #1870 (I believe the car was #1712). It was just the one car. I told him that yeah if I ever got the funds for it and if his boss ever listed it, I'd snag it for myself. Several months pass, the banter continues, and about 2 weeks ago I figured it was truly time for me to buy the car. I told him "This time im ready." He also gave me a little tidbit saying that he actually had the whole TWO-PACK instead of the single car. There was no turning back, but either way I had the funds for the whole shebag. His boss listed it on eBay, I bought it, and now she arrived.

Seven months I had been back and forth, and today a few hours ago that dream was accomplished. They're gorgeous cars, and my first Broadway Limited Imports items! Excellent underframe detail, sturdy weight and crisp lettering. Not to mention, theres TWO of 'em, and they're my first Texas & Pacific items!

Here is a close up on Car #1720. When I first was told about this, I figured it was just Car #1712. Now I have the two-pack!
