I don't normally do this kind of thing. We go to video games and comic books to escape reality for a while, but I understand that some people have been using my favorite character from my favorite game to make jokes about the recent tragedy in Boston.So this is my response.

Sorry I can not say much on these subjects but I think the people trying to make a joke about are trying to get over it in there own way. Since I read there was a study about the people who joke a lot are making jokes on there own life tragedies and what they see in this world. If you take a look at all comedy carefully you'll realize it's all a joke, a charade on the sad things in life.

Mm... I dunno. The idea makes sense, but there's such a thing as 'too soon,' you know? Those Scout jokes showed up immediately and no one was laughing.
You're right about the tragedy thing, though. Even lighthearted comics like Popeye had elements of sadness.

It was horrible, yeah. A lot of people got hurt. In fact I'm going to Boston for their next marathon which had to be expanded to meet demand; people were pretty upset.

Yes, exactly. Some people were making jokes with Scout annnnnnd that is not ok. I was just at a half-marathon and they've bumped up security there with dogs and police officers. I wonder what next year will look like...

When my friend told me about the tragedy the day it happened, I could barely contain my anger, hatred, and need to kill something. I was wearing my Scout shirt that day, which kind of made these feelings increase.

The boston bombing made me cry, literally.
When i found out about it, i instantly switched from demoman, to scout, FOR A WEEK.
My demoman will never use bombs again, he is now a demoknight.

I actually kept hoping someone would do a brief comic of the team watching the news, then the report comes on, and Scout BOLTS for the phone to call his mum to make sure she and his brothers are okay, then he just slumps against the wall, and the rest of the team just gathers around him, not saying anything, just offering wordless support...
