Well, this is an old one. It was done as a test of a new brand of watercolor paper, which has since become my go-to paper for painting due to its versatility and water-friendliness.So here you have Rainbow Dash soaring above the clouds, free as a bird and not a care in the world. I guess she hasn't found out that winter is coming.
Painted with watercolor on Strathmore 140 lb. 9x12 watercolor paper. Finished on: 3/7/14.

The attention to detail on the eyelashes is phenomenal! As well as the definition on the mane, the 'furry-style' coat and on the feathers is remarkable.
The colours are all so vibrantly defined, yet blend really smoothly and pleasantly, providing an excellent finish that really captures the atmosphere of the scene. I also really like the way you've indicated the breeze.
The sharpness and crystal clarity of Rainbow Dash's features in the foreground with the cottony clouds and fluffy grass in the background makes for a really well-composed image

The latest episode had tons of flaws and continuity errors, but hey, the song was catchy! Rainbow Dash degenerated into her season one self, but at least she finally got a solo song!
