Description Hi guys! I finally got a chance to actually scan this, instead of using my bro's camera, so here's an updated version that looks SO MUCH BETTER! GAH.

Note: ART DUMP! EVERYBODY DUCK AND COVER!

Yesh, there's more. My next month gryph should be along in a few days, too.

So, these are gryphons for my aunt and uncle, who recently had a baby. When asked for their favorite birds/mammals, they reported that they liked storks (because of the whole baby-thing... ) and peacocks, and dogs. So I kinda got free reign with this, with my aunt being the stork and my uncle the peacock. I decided that their sons should both be heron-type birds, so Jonah (the toddler) is a reddish egret (I love the floofy crest! ) and Lucas (the baby) is a great blue heron. D'aww!

Lucas is the best baby ever, seriously. He's only a month or so old, and he NEVER cries, screams, or fusses. He lets anybody hold him and sits quietly wherever you put him. My aunt says he's the kind of baby that makes everybody else want babies...

So, this is for them. This pic is on toned paper, because I thought it might work for a cool (aka lazy) background, and make the colors "pop" a bit more. It was really nice to work with because it required a lighter touch than I usually use, and it was just delightful to see how vivid everything looked. So I might do some more with it in the future.

Faber-Castell colored pencils on toned paper, with a bit of white gel pen for the final touches. Enjoy!

Oh god I could stare at this forever *-* Your use of colors pencils is really something!

And it's a really unique combination of animals, too.

Wonderful textures, colors, and presentation of mood. It has a very classical look to it, something you might see in an old illustrated fairy tale book.

It's really wonderful to hear you say that; that's pretty much the look I was going for. I'm so glad you think so!

Wicked detail. Love the action shot -- it's a perfect freeze-frame. And the colors... nice.

Thank you! Actually, this picture is a lot less detailed than is normal for me; the toned paper was wonderful to work with because I didn't have to mash the paper with my pencils like I usually do! XP Fun fun fun...
