i've been meaning to paint some trees like this since seeing some nice ones in florida, but i hadn't gotten around to it
i know it didnt scan that well, and the fish are kinda washed out, i'll probably have to go back and add some more color, although they do look less dull in real life ;^;
but yeah, at first i thought the fish kinda clashed with the plants, but then i realized they looked kinda like flowers so they fit, so i dunno

sorry for the late reply! I like big floating flying fish for the same reason i like aquariums, the fish look like they're flying effortlessly as they swim around the water.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh a long time, i dont remember = .=;
it was one of the most time consuming i've done recently though, mostly because of the layers.

I love those trees! Where I live in Florida, we need more of em... hope to get that fixxed up soon though. *schemes to invade lots of private lawns and use threats to keep the trees growing...*
Coolness! But I imagine those fishing have a hard time eating some things. Or kissing... or sipping their tea. But the colors are really swell and the the landscape well portrayed.

for some reason, this reminds me of davy jones. or maybe it's just because i have pirates on the brain right now. we should so play that for like, the rest of the month. or at least, alternate both pirates and both shreks. yeah, that sounds good.
and i agree with ben-it does kinda of make me think of the fish as slightly translucent as light as they are, adds to the dreamy effect to me.

Trees look great in the air and I never thought of putting the swamp trees in the air...very interesting. The critters are also nice
It reminds me a bit of Nausicaa and of the Fantasia movie with the flying wales..
I can't wait to take a watercolor class so I can get better at it -_-

i've actually sen both of them, although its been a while. its a close call betweent the two of those which is my favorite of his movies, but there are a few that aren't as popular that i havent gotten around to seeing yet ;^;

also the animals that looks like fish but fly like birds are interesting and give the picture the right surreal point that make it a real good dreamscape picture.
I wished you could draw some of those dream like landscapes and pictures I have in mind or if I could draw them like you would be fantastic

Yes he is good in creating big feelings in the story and in the drawings.
How do you develop a dream like picture like this one? you just got pictures of that kind always in the mind? Or just try some rational development ways too? I got some times this kind of interesting landscape and scenery pictures in my mind. sometimes just like a picture seen lighted like by a flash for so short mostly on the day or sometimes some more longer scenes while dreaming at sleep. But I never got it to get them out of my mind so exactly as to sketch them or write a long description.
