I like the movie, because it comes closest to a TOS episode.

Well, it's a failed social/political experiment.

Fantastic, Impressive, and Cool Artwork!!!
P.S. Not my favorite Star Trek film of all time but after having seen the "reboots" by J.J. Abrams, I definitely have new respect for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.

It's my third favorite Trek film, after TUC and TWOK.

If Plan B doesn't work, then let us consider Plan C. C as in COUNTERMEASURES!!!!

Great image. This was a FUN movie. I don't care if the plot was a little silly, the overall movie was still entertaining and fun.

The plot was good for a TOS story. They went to find God and in the end, they found themselves.

"He can't be serious."
The best part of that scene, as far as I'm concerned, is that Scotty knows exactly what Kirk is planning even though he doesn't say it. Can't do any better than a well-seasoned crew who knows you better than you know yourself.

I did a scene with the same theme, but not with this "layout".

This is just Beautiful!!!
My understanding was that Shatner had a different vision concerning the end of the movie when they found Sha Ka Ree but had financial issues so they had to downsize his vision. Maybe some day Paramount will give Shatner the money to create a digitally enhanced special edition of The Final Frontier, including what the infamous Rockman scene could have looked like and other deleted scenes; but we won’t be holding our breath.

Thank you!
It's actually better than the TNG movies. Also, it has the best classic character dyínamics between the golden trio and has one of Kirk's strongest moments (I need my pain).

But I like the TNG movies (Except Nemesis IT NEVER HAPPENED LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU)
The one thing Star Trek V does really well is that it is the movie most like an episode of The Original Series. If TOS had TNG/DS9/VOY-style season end cliffhangers, it would easily sit quite comfortably as the two-parter bridging seasons two and three. The problem is that this actually makes it ill-suited to be a theatrical movie starring a more mature cast in their 50s and 60s. It's just oddly inappropriate and a little infantile.

It was a flawed movie.... but it's not all Shatner's fault either. Things went wrong around him.
My question is: how did they clean up all the crash to launch the next shuttle later?
And couldn't "God" have just 'merged' with the shuttlecraft? Or the Bird-of-prey instead? -How did he not sense that entering the atmosphere?
