I'd also like to add that, if we could all get used to Sonic's redesign in Sonic Boom, then surely there's no reason we won't be able to with Sonic's movie look too.
Otherwise, I'm going to boldly claim that this film will develop a cult following.

Of course it was easy to get used to the boom redesign because it wasn't nearly as drastic as the defined muscles and creepy teeth the movie has.Β

I'm sure it will get one, as a lot of badly-repped movies do. The Super Mario Bros. movie for instance had mostly bad character designs, but the following for that film is strong.

In the midst of it's nonsensical storyline, Super Mario Bros. had a strong selection of cast members (Hoskins, Leguizamo, Hopper, Mathis), great special effects for it's time, and the fact that people were making the world's first theatrical video game adaptation.
You don't need to feel bad. Right now, I feel like the rabid fans are the assholish ones towards the people who genuinely like Sonic's movie look, especially since Jeff Fowler has now said they will redesign Sonic. If it's closer to his game look then I guess that's okay, but I [still] feel hurt when I heard this news.

Oh no, I'm not being apologetic for those who hate the design, I know furries who think it looks awful ffs. Sure people might have been a bit assholish (though with good reasoning), but that made change because the director was mature enough to take the criticism. Honestly, him going out and saying that they want the movie to be the best it can be is gonna make me go give it a shot. Still not going in with high hopes, but I'm at least gonna give them a chance.
Ik it sucks for the stark minority who liked the design, but if the new design is at the very least, more appealing overall, then everyone wins either way. They're artists, and the fact that they will even go back to make changes just shows maturity and care for what they're making no matter how it turns out.

my only connection with the shitty music and the movie would be that it was made y the fast and furious people and that these movies are kindaish about gangsters? So they tried to bring in people using the music and reference as a lure for those people wo are like "Yeah i watched that movie about cars and gangster, i WILL see this shitty animated movie about an abomination having to rescue the world!...i guess?"

he's fine, some angles make him look weird, but over all it's passable
it's just at a ballsy move to change an iconic design so much like that, people have the right to be at least a bit alarmed at that sight
