In my D&D campaign we had a very low intelligence, very strong Half-Orc Barbarian, named Thok. Thok thought he was an Elf, because he too had pointy ears like the Elves in our party. He eventually became our pass around comic relief character, for visitors to play. But over time he developed a backstory; that he was actually an Elf-Orc (Half Elf, Half Orc) and he had been cursed, with stupidity and ugliness (as Elf Orcs we're natually more attactive and intelligent than Half Orcs because of their Elven Traits). Thok had been the Chief's Eldest Son but was cursed by his jealous younger brother "Watchtower" who enslaved his own clan of Elf Orc, who were then trained as Assassins and sold as Bodyguards; bonded in Life and Death to the highest bidder.
