Colette, a petite young girl with big hair, comes off easily as sweet and gentle. Her appearance is the pure embodiment of innocence, and her habit of being a bit touchy with people affirm that she is nothing but full of sweetness. And truly, Colette is kind. She is often laughing and cheerful, eager to satisfy her boredom. At times, however, she does tend to hurt others without truly realizing it. Be it a slip of the tongue or a guilt-trip, Colette is the type to get what she wants. If someone calls her out on her abusive habits, she’ll only tear up and apologize, saying she’ll never do it again, but not actually taking steps into fixing herself.
Despite her energy and cheerfulness, Colette was never one for screaming or shouting, her excitement showing through vibrations of her body or her overly expressive facial features. A bit airheaded, she is the type to hear something wrong and get excited about it, only to be disappointed when it turns out it wasn’t what she’d been expecting. She also has a habit of being forgetful when it comes to promises or dates, forgetting birthdays except her own, or chores and projects she’d been assigned to do.
✦ History: Colette was born the youngest of a pureblood family, her parents distant- very distant- cousins of one another married in order to keep the bloodline pure. The eldest daughter, Cole’s older sister, was a Squib and instantly disowned. Colette hadn’t even known of her existence until years into her life, after some searching in the family library.
Raised as an only child, Colette grew spoiled by the house elves, her parents often away doing whatever it was rich parents did. Whenever her parents were home, however, her life was anything but spoiled. Her parents, and their bloodline as a whole, were ultimate elitists. They believed in being the best of the best, the purest of the pure. Every time they were home they quizzed Colette on studies, rewarding her with toys and punishing her by locking her inside a small cabinet in the kitchen. Unluckily, Colette’s mind was bad at studying and focusing, more often than not landing herself inside the cabinet.
Due to the hierarchy of the house, the house elves obeyed Cole’s parents over her own demands, often finding her requests for food and water declined while locked inside the cabinets. Long periods of lack of food and nourishment slightly stunted her growth, and the frequent darkness and being cooped up with her knees to her chin in a cabinet developed in Colette a deathly fear of enclosed spaces. The cabinet punishments stopped when she was eleven, upon admittance to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, to which they started assessing Colette’s strength according to her grades, anything less than perfect resulting in a disciplinary spell.
Her reunion with her sister occurred when she was twelve years of age, visiting the nearby town of Chatoeil. Prior to the meeting, Colette had started studying more and more in the family library, dedicating herself to less punishment or, at least, a way to make her parents less cruel. Instead she came across an enchanted book that acted as a sentient Blanc Family Tree, tracing the family ages back and answering any questions with detailed answers. There was a blank page before Colette’s, to which she discovered her older sister’s existence. She asked many questions to the book regarding her sister’s life prior to being disowned and what she was doing now, and as it turned out, she had been taken in by a shop owner in town, and worked there as help. The book told her as well that her sister frequented the muggle world, at that moment Colette’s curiousity being sparked even further.
She staked out her sister’s shop and confronted her, and though their reunion wasn’t as filled with crying as Colette had anticipated, it was still warm a meeting nonetheless. Colette asked questions about being away from home and what muggles were like, her sister admitting to having thought about moving permanently into the muggle’s world given she’d fallen for someone there and Colette covering her mouth in such scandalous news.
Of course, Colette never told anyone, couldn’t really, given that she wasn’t even supposed to have heard of her sister, and in the spring of her third year her sister disappeared from the magic world. Colette sent owls out with her name, but all of them came back weary and defeated, letters attached and untouched. Her mind, in waiting for the return of every owl grew more and more curious, wondering as she wrote every essay what had happened to her sister. The small doodles she used to make at her desk turned into full ink drawings of imaginiative scenarios her sister was in- sometimes in a tall building, looking out a window, other times underneath a four wheeled vehicle.
Her daily reactions began to rely on her imagination of her sister's situations, sometimes acting solemn if the sister in her mind had died, other times- usually the more popular decision- rather happy if her sister had decided to gone on with her marriage, or had kids, or other good news. Cole's fantasies of love and passion often made her fall for every person she came across, especially girls, and she found herself heartbroken more often than not. Rather than face her issues, she'd act as though she was sad not because she was rejected, but because her imaginative sister's fifth child died upon birth. Real gruesome stuff.
Her parents have definitely noticed her personality switch, but given Colette doesn't seem to be slacking any more than she did before in terms of school work, they let it slide with their usual punishments.

✦ Pet: A raven named Cunaria, which means babysitter in latin, and is nicknamed "Cunny" by Cole, a name of which the raven does not appreciate. Given it's practically half her size, it often perches atop Cole's head, pecking her whenever she isn't studying or obeying rules- literally her babysitter. Despite having been bought and trained by Cole's parents, however, Cunaria has been entrapped in Cole's captivating spell and is dedicated to making sure the little girl is safe, even if it doesnt seem like it. Cole fails to understand how much Cunaria cares and sees the raven as an enemy, more often than not running from her.
