Though at first Ren comes off as a very cheerful person, it usually only takes a drink or a night out for one to find out that she is, simply put, a cry baby. She puts her effort and experience into getting things done, reaching a point in her life where she's learned to be responsible for herself, crying aside. Even when put into rush hour for the first time at a new place, Ren has a determination about her, a will, that pushes her to put on a big cheery smile and do her best. That said, she's pretty much an open book, and anything she thinks can probably be read on her face- except for when she's on the floor. Then, her smile is usually quite composed and professional.

Ren is very patient, having learned that rushing does no good, and will often wait as long as it takes for something to happen. She is almost what others would call a pushover, in that her breaks are often pushed back so that others could break early, and rather than complain, Ren only responds with a smile and a nod of the head. While her patience is good in terms of waiting in a line, or for a meet-up, it could also be quite a bad habit, especially given that people take advantage of it.

During her middle school years, Ren got more involved in developing her friend circle rather than her school, and in her third year, was given a tutor to improve her work. Her tutor was in high school, and after spending nights alone with only math formulas and flickering lights between them, the two fell in love.

When Ren reached high school of her first year, she and her tutor had been dating for a bit. It was like a typical shoujo manga, where they shared bicycle rides or lied down in fields, curled up against a bright country sky. That summer, when he graduated, he convinced her to run away with him, and with her still feeling as though her parents didn't love her as much as her sister, agreed. They left on a full moon, the largeness of the sky almost a symbol for the vastness of their future, and together on a midnight train they escaped to the city.

The two used their savings to rent a small apartment between them, and the first thing he did was go out and look for a job. Ren focused mostly on doing housework and caring for her boyfriend, but at times did odd jobs here and there- like as a cashier for a fast food restaurant, or helping part-time at a florist. There weren't any places willing to hire a girl who only graduated middle school, but Ren made up for it with her cheery attitude, and unshakable will. Meanwhile, her boyfriend got hired at an office, where he used his smarts and charisma to rise to the ranks.

For a while, these two lived happily- ten long years, actually. Or, at least, that's how it looked. In the ten years they had been together, Ren learned how hard it was to live with only a mediocre education, and sometimes making friends was hard- especially with the working class who reminisced on memories she never had a chance to have. Learning that she was basically equivalent to trash in society, Ren spiraled into meeting with other people like her- her jobs changed from cashiering and watering flowers to dressing up in revealing dresses and convincing old men to touch her and put money between her breasts. She encountered drugs, smoking, and the love of her life- alcohol.

She developed her bad habits to try and convince her boyfriend- a normal man who graduated and was in the workforce- that he should break up with her. But instead, he continued to love her, and Ren only continued to make her life worse. She would cheat on her boyfriend in their own apartment, but every time he would clean her up and hold her as she cried, afterwards tucking her into bed. The more it continued however, the later he came home, until at one point he didn't come back until the mornings after, or the night after.

Then one day, he told her they were over. Through stalking, Ren found out he'd found a lovelier girl- a smart girl who came from a good school, with black hair and petite features and a sharp black suit. He'd told her he would help pay for her rent until she had enough money or found a cheaper place, to which Ren spent a solid six months in crying and moping around. She was doping up in the back of a restaurant by a chef, her peers bolting like rats caught in a pantry. Before she could get up and run, he kicked the needle out of her hand and yelled at her for doing stupid shit.

She cried in the back onto a dishrag as she told the chef her woes, to which he told her that what she needed was a job. He hired her on the spot, making her carry packages or do deliveries- just working her body until she was too tired to cry, too tired to realize she came home to a dark empty house. Slowly but surely, Ren picked herself up, relying more on the chef and his wife- who managed the restaurant- feeling for the first time, that she wanted to go back home and reunite with her parents. She was still quite a bit of a coward though, and to this day, has yet to return.

Eventually her chef friend recommended her to other restaurants to work telling her that what she needed to overlap her bad experiences were good ones, and if you ask Ren, she's done it all- from sushi houses, to fancy Western restaurants and once, a maid cafe that she felt as though she didn't really do all that well on(if you look up "Crybaby Riiko-chan" you may find a fan page or two of her from when she worked- most of them with her face flushed and with tears in her eyes). Along the way, she had learned how to communicate with others, and reconnected with making healthy relationships. She also almost always made very good friends with the other staff- mostly the kitchen staff, learning how to cook crazy meals that she enjoyed practicing when she was given the chance.

She settled for working at a bar restaurant with a woman she'd made close friends with, and had long since moved from apartment to apartment until she found one she liked, settling there. She still continues to dye her hair, afraid that if she kept it black that others would look at her and expect something more than a girl who left high school to chase after a man who ended up leaving her. Overall, at the moment, she's found peace and is quite happy- though sometimes misses having someone to come home to.
