Contest entry for ~kirstyc 's "Seven Deadly Sins" contest. This one is, obviously, Pride.

This was not the direction I had intended this picture to go. Originally Pride had a more Asian look and costume, but I ended up going with a more obvious snooty European dandy type fellow. The peacock influence stayed, however.

A lot of people switch Pride with Vanity, but I wanted to put more emphasis on wealth, arrogance and perceived intelligence rather than on narcissism.

As it turned out as I was drawing this, I came across the most arrogant, ageist, racist snob over on the IMDb message boards. This one's for him. And since I'm a gen-Y-er who enjoys such low forms of art such as The Beatles and WALL-E and drew this in a comic/animated style, he'd most likely hate it, which is kind of the point.
