Pyrography
This celtic jewelry box is a Christmas gift I made for my twin sister.
It took an INSANE amount of time. Wood-burning Celtic knots takes FOREVER.

I bought the wooden box at a local art and craft store (Michael's) and then I did the sanding, burning, staining and polyurethane-ing myself.

Back in the 50s when I was a kid, wood-burning kits were advertised all over, but this is the first example of anything more ambitious than a house number sign that I've seen.
