Description I actually scratched out this illustration several years ago, when a friend of mine was discussing ideas for a novel. This scene didn't make it into the later drafts, so I feel comfortable posting it now.

Even Death and his companion, Hades and Persephone, need a holiday sometimes. And if the lord of the Underworld chooses to take along his rubber duckie to the seaside, who are we to argue?
