Description        Use with Credits

In the events of Fallout-4, the Sole Survivor when rescuing the desperate group of settlers in the mission, "When Freedom Calls" ends up acquiring a left over military issue T-45 power armor set, which was sitting on the roof of the building for nearly 210 years. Because the group of five, with one of them being Preston Garvey, a Lieutenant in the Commonwealth Minutemen, were in need of defense from a large group of raiders, the Sole Survivor eliminates the hostile group and allows for the small group's safety to be ensured. In the mission they inform the Sole Survivor of a set of T-45 power armor on the rooftop of the building, but that it needs a Fusion Core, which one still remains in the basement of the museum building. Upon agreeing to acquire the source of power, he/she then goes to the rooftop to insert the Fusion Core into the back of the power armor, springing it to life once entering. Shortly after getting into the armor, the Sole Survivor would then pick up the minigun to fight the remaining assaulting raiders who are trying to still kill the group. A deathclaw will appear and also be an opponent in the engagement, for which the Sole Survivor finds a way to defeat it.
Once the engagement is over, the Sole Survivor proceeds to talk with a thankful Preston Garvey, who then roughly organizes the group to travel to Sanctuary, the Sole Survivor's former home 210 years previous. Arriving at the settlement of Sanctuary, the newly acquired set of power armor will become his/her own personal set, where it will have a special marker on the map to identify its location. Throughout the game, the Sole Survivor may use the set of T-45 power armor, or other armor if he/she chooses to switch out armors. However in context of the T-45 itself, the paintjob that can be applied to the whole set is a greyish blue color with a single white Minutemen insignia placed in the center of the torso. For the entire group of Minutemen in the game, this very set that the Sole Survivor acquires is the only official armor that was set in game as part of canon. However mod makers have made a multitude of mods and missions that depict other power armor sets with Minutemen paintjobs, with them being non-canon. Although, in the logical sense, a theorized world where the Minutemen reign power over the Commonwealth, beyond that seen in game, theoretically could acquire other sets of power armor and apply similar paintjobs.
This set seen here, simply is depicting the original set of T-45 power armor that the Sole Survivor acquires in that very mission, with a clean version (non-canon) and the weathered version, which is canon.
