Description This segen destroyer is an example of the initial move away from unitary hulls to the completely "fragmented" design. The hull and primary weapon systems are integrated into the hull while the spider (power source with armoured cowling) and drive array are separate. When in combat, the ship also deploys weapon moons that encircle the ship and provide shielding and defensive fire.

Very cool design, and I especially like the drive sails at the back of the ship.

I would like to ask a question if I may; how do you come up with all of designs for your ships, because no matter how hard I try I cannot think up a good design.

Thanks very much. As far as thinking up ideas, the fact is that I don't really start off with any specific shapes or anything. I start drawing and it just sort of "go with the flow". Most concept artists use thumbnails to start with but I am lazy and skip that part. There is usually a particular system or form that I am trying to explore in the drawing - the sail at the back of the ship in this case, or a weapon system or a hull shape - but I try to stay as fluid as possible as far as the outcome. I know of other artists, however, that need far more of a structured idea before starting out. My suggestion would be to try different ways of doing things; try using thumbnails to generate a form and then stick to it while doing the final piece, and then, on another occasion, try just starting at a point and work without a plan to see what happens. Also, try to use basic shapes as the structure of the design - I usually use tapering or flattened cubes. Keep the overall shape simple and you can't go wrong. The rest is just detail. I hope that helps. Good luck with it - with practice I am sure you'll do well.
