Description
My name is Scull… I’m a new hybrid of ghost.
My story begins in a dark mansion covered in dust, cobwebs, and cold rain…
“Are you alright Madam? You haven’t been sleeping pleasantly recently.”
“I’m sorry Maulred… ever since my parents died in that mysterious fire... the spirits of the house haven’t been settling… I think there’s a darkness falling over the house.”
“Don’t fret Madam Lillienne.” Maulred walks out, “He’ll take care of you soon enough.”
The spirits are restless for they know that the darkest spirit of the house is rousing from his hibernation… this happens only every few hundreds of year… The young lady called Lillienne is aware of the monsters that lurk in the halls and the ghosts that sleep in her closet, but only the butler knows of Shard. I swoop down next to the girl,
“Mistress Lillienne?” Tears fall from her fragile eyes; the girl appears perfect like a porcelain doll,
“Oh Scull!” She wraps her arms around me, “I’m scared.” I send a low screech that echoes to the halls. A whisper is heard and a tall green creature walks into the door way,
“Mistress, here is your pet, he’s been worried.”
“Hey Skritch.” The monster licks the tears from her face. Mistress Lillienne gives a weak laugh and wipes the green slobber from her face, “Where is everyone else?”
“In the garden ma’am.” I bow to her,
“Stop it Scull… my father would say the same if he were here.” I nod,
“He would ma’am.” I float up to her shoulder,
“Madam?” A small dog with gouged out eyes floats in,
“Yes Tuffs?” The dog’s eye sockets glow red,
“The butler is in his room, he’s already asleep. Haunting Nightmares is watching him… making sure he’s asleep. Neon Style is with her too, just in case.” The Mistress nods,
“Good, Skritch, can you take me to the garden?” The green monster nods and allows her to go on his back, “Good boy, let’s go!” I float through the window as the two silently bolt to the back door,
“Tiny?” A small black and white creature runs up to me cheerfully, “Where’s Tar?” Tiny yips and points towards a headless monster, “Okay, give us a second.” I float up to him, he appears to be sensing the roses, “Any news on… the Dark One?” A deep voice replies,
“Nothing.” I watch as the mistress jumps off Skritch’s back,
“We must keep her safe no matter what.”
“I know. I know.”
