"HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!"  The shout ripped through the air, cutting.

"And he betrayed them!"  Harry seemed to crumple inwards, then.  Angry, hateful sobs tearing out of him.  Hermione could only watch, a hesitant hand reached out to comfort him.

"I'm going to find him."  He promised her then, eyes staring at her, freezing the girl with the intense flames.  "And when I do, I'm going to kill him."  It wasn't a threat, she could tell at that moment.  The young man in front of her would kill Sirius Black when he saw him, of that she had no doubt.

But his words cut through and hurt her more then they should have, in her position.  They made her freeze in fear, at first, then that melted into sorrow, and she once more regretted the deal she had made, at a time that seemed so long ago, as somebody who was so different then who she was now...
