For some reason this reminds me a bit of a serpopard.

Apparently I did one of those by accident a while back, kinda kinda!

That's what happens when you ignore the regulations for biocontamination! Those rules are there for a reason!

On a planet cut off from the galaxy, one man will discover perhaps the most unfortunate coincidence in xenobiology. Trapped on a hostile death world, he has to survive pursuit from the horniest megafauna imaginable. Shot on location, Milky Way Movies presents;
Musk
No animals were harmed in the making of this movie

...or perhaps Archnemesis, or Royal Consort...?
Thanks man, I appreciate it!

I was going to say Ratatosk but then I saw you linked to the wikipedia article! Very cool. I always thought Ratatosk should be something alien.

That was kind of funny (well, to me, at least)--I didn't make the connection at all at first, but then when I was writing the description I was like, "Wait a second, isn't there some sort of monster squirrel in Norse mythology...? That runs up and down a giant tree, even...?!"

Some of the old illustrations of Ratatosk are just as weird as yours.

Hm, can you link to me to anything? All I'm finding is this little cartoon character from a game or something.

Jesus, that is actually pretty frightening... but in the best way possible!
It’s kinda funny, the first thing I thought of when seeing this was Ratatoskr and then I saw you lined to its wikipedia article as well.
...and if this is Ratataskor, just imagine what the eagle and the hawk sitting between its eyes would look like. Maybe they wouldn’t even be two separate entities but a single biological amalgam based on various avian DNA. Maybe similar to an avian version of this carp: ( imgur.com/gallery/3zL4zFn)

Reminds me of one idea I had about the caterpillarsaur (that I still need to work on). It struck me that while in splitting phase, they could take on an ambush hunting style similar to Hawaiian Eupithecia caterpillars.
