Description :thumb331523552:
This is a drawing of one of my scion characters by Though I would not use their services, the next project I commissioned for them has been pretty much abandoned and I've never been paid back after more than three years.

I've never been able to get this character into a good, long-lasting game.

She is Kiyone Harnen, daughter of Amaterasu.

As far as Fate is concerned, at least.

Kiyone was born of the goddess Benten after a union with a United States Marine. Benten originally was adamant that her daughter should be spared from the war of the Titans and avoided paying her a visitation for the express purpose of making sure that her daughter would not have her divine ichor awakened and become noticed by the supernatural world.

Benten even went so far as to prevent her daughter from getting caught up in mortal warfare by ruining her career in the marines by quietly encouraging a night of debauchery that turned a bit too public and following it up with influencing contacts within the Japanese movie industry to hire her as a stunt consultant.

From stunt consultant, her innate and exotic features brought her onto the screen as first side characters and then the leading roles as her acting got better.

Unfortunately for Benten's plans, this brought Kiyone within the sights of Amaterasu who decided that this daughter of the Amatsukami was being wasted as a mere actress when her sleeping gifts could turn the position into so much more.

First, Amaterasu suggested that Benten pay her daughter a visitation.

Benten refused.

Second, Amaterasu ordered her to pay her daughter a visitation.

Benten refused.

Third, Amaterasu suggested that she might adopt Kiyone if Benten did not desire to claim her.

Benten refused.

And finally, through a combination of browbeating and trickery, Amaterasu drew out of Benten a definite statement that the Goddess of Love intended to never claim her daughter, a statement which the powers of Fate took as denying the relationship.

Her ties to Kiyone now severed, Benten could only watch as Amaterasu took up the "orphan" child and adopted her.

Now, Kiyone has not yet learned any of this, and Benten is forbidden direct contact with her. She has been told that she is Amaterasu's daughter and that it is her task to fight the evil of the Titans.

However, she is never really sure what Amaterasu's thoughts about her are. Especially as she encounters other of Amaterasu's children who have spoken of their mother's rigid image of what Japan and the Japanese should be.

Kiyone has noted that she herself doesn't completely fit into her mother's view of Japan as it should be and wonders if she is anything but a tool to the Goddess of the Sun.

Kiyone Harnen is Amaterasu's Eclipse, slipping in to serve as her mother's enforcer when the light of the Goddess's favor turns aside.

But is she also Amaterasu's Eclipse, the doom of a bigoted goddess who does not realize that she sows the seeds of her own destruction?

(Scion's version of Amaterasu is a jerk)

Well done, particularly the more subtle aspects of her face, such as the barely visible cheekbones.
